Iemand op FerrariChat was blijkbaar niet tevreden van z'n 458 ownership.
 

 

So, after 6 of them, I think I'm past them. I've been without one for 6 months now and honestly, I don't miss it at all. Who gave up his 458 spider after 5 months? Me.

What turned me?

I'm tired of the BS lack of transparency, the lack of quality control, the poor engineering of the most mundane things (like AC and stereos and seat belts that don't rattle when you drive), and the pain it takes in getting one and to get rid of one. I don't expect a "Lexus" experience. But, I don't think I deserve a Pontiac experience either when I put down 300 grand on a "dream machine".

I'm tired of the "well you should feel privileged to own one" therefore put up with it stuff.

I'm tired of idiots following me everywhere and homeless people running up asking for a handout. I have nothing about handouts for homeless but there's also something about my personal safety and that of my passenger when some stranger runs up after me at every stop light.

I'm tired of worrying about stupid people putting door dings in the aluminum skin and knowing each one is another 200 bucks out of my pocket -- along with the hassle and disappointment.

I'm tired of being ripped off over options costs. Come on guys... just raise the freakin' price of the car and reduce the stupid crazy option costs to just "crazy". Don't make me think I'm an idiot for paying $3500 for a Sat radio antenna that costs 10 bucks at Pep boys.

And, I'm bored to death. The cars today are for doctors and lawyers to drive them to the office. There's so little emotion today. They are too perfect when I want something less perfect and more fun to drive. I want to feel like a race driver, not a doctor. I want to live a fantasy, not reality. Reality BLOWS. I'm an overweight, out of shape 50 something. I want to think I'm Steve McQueen and not Videl Sassoon.

I'm tired of the cops following me waiting for me to go 5 mph over the speed limit or fine me for no front plate.

I'm tired of paying for crazy insurance rates because of ridiculous replacement parts costs and stupid drivers of other cars doing stupid things. I think a 6 mph rear ender that costs 30 grand and takes 4 months to fix is beyond ridiculous.

I'm tired that the only way you can drive them with any sort of anger is on a track or you will be in jail for the weekend.

I'm tired of the seats wearing just for getting in and out of it a few times. Ok... it's soft. But does it have to look like someone owned it for years after just a few weeks?

Yes, they are pretty (well most). But there are many pretty cars. Sure, I like the brand but the cars today.... not too sure.

Maybe someday I'll change my mind. I walked away once before from the 328 to F430 era.

But, something has to change more than just the cars. They have to want my business again.

I don't think they do.

Wat een pleidooi  Heb zelf uiteraard geen ervaring in het hebben van dat soort voiture maar hij komt overtuigend over.
