Deze auto met, zeg 75 kg meergewicht wegens twee extra diffs en bijbehorende cardans, en nog steeds maar 200 atmo pk's --> no fun. Quote

Deze auto met, zeg 75 kg meergewicht wegens twee extra diffs en bijbehorende cardans, en nog steeds maar 200 atmo pk's --> no fun. Nope, nog niet... Ik dacht dat eerste wagens die effectief zullen rijden pas in juni beschikbaar zijn ;-) (en op Franco volgend jaar ) Inderdaad, AWD is ferm nadeel voor het gewicht natuurlijk. Wel benieuwd of en hoe de STI versie er komt uit te zien. Quote

AWD vloekt trouwens met het hele concept van deze auto. Euhm... AWD vloekt met Subaru bedoel je? Het is enkel omdat Toyota een belangrijke financiële inbreng had in het dossier, dat hij er zo is gekomen. Het zijn zij die - in analogie van de AE86 - de eis van de RWD op tafel hebben gegooid. Anderzijds zou Subaru nooit zelfstandig deze kar gebouwd hebben... Dus wie weet is het wel een verrijking Quote

Yes. Subaru USA’s Twitter account simply posted a picture of a rear wing with ‘STI’ badging on the side, and a simple note to “stay tuned” and the hashtag ‘STI’. Apparently, the full reveal is scheduled for 8 June, so not long to go before we see what Subaru has cooked up. Plenty of time then, to speculate as wildly as you wish. A couple of years ago at the New York Motor Show, Subaru showcased a concept BRZ STI; a car that was essentially a very fancy, bewinged and modified marketing tool to better acquaint the USA with Japan’s fabled tuning company. That car – in the image gallery above – was treated to lower, STI-spec suspension, 18in alloys, custom Brembo brakes, a new aero pack, chassis fasteners to pin down that body and some power. Actually, not just some power, but a lot of power. Out went the BRZ’s 2.0-litre boxer unit, and in came the EJ20 single-turbo boxer from Subaru’s GT300 car. Officially, the power output on that BRZ STI concept was quoted at 345bhp (but secretly TG discovered the car on the stand packed around 450bhp), matched to a stronger six-speed gearbox and rear wheel drive. Now, we don’t expect the production version to debut with 450bhp (but oh how we wish it would), but anything over the 200bhp of the regular car would be a boon. Also, it’s got a wing, so we’re halfway to STI fandom. Back in 2015, Subaru stated should an STI-badged BRZ ever see the light of day, “[we] would assume it would come to the UK, it would be easier because it’s already right-hand-drive”. The special edition has new "STI-tuned" SACHS dampers all around the car, and draw stiffeners mounted to the subframe and chassis, which Subaru claims helps steering response. The tS also has 18-inch STI wheels that are wrapped with 215/40 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 rubber and Brembo provides stopping power for each wheel. Also, check out the new adjustable carbon-fiber spoiler on the rear lid and new lower diffusers on the front and rear of the car. Like the STI, the tS has a bit of red pinstriping around the exterior. Both cars can only be ordered in Subaru's dark blue, black, or white paints. Only 500 examples of each special edition model will be built. According to Subaru, those cars will start showing up at dealers in early 2018.
