Ok, de infrastructuur is wel cool maar voor mij is dat van ondergeschikt belang. Believe me Yas Marina is echt een kutcircuit...!

This is one of ultimately only 25 BBLM's made. Built as a race version of the road 512 Berlinetta Boxer it was in the tradition of competition versions of road cars such as the 275 GTB/C and the 365 competition Daytona that were produced by the factory for privateers. The birth of the BBLM was as a result of Luigi Chinetti and Charles Pozzi (American and French importers of the period respectively) applying pressure to the factory to do so. This is the third of the first eight made by the Ferrari factory in late 1978 specially for the GT category of long distance racing, especially the Le Mans 24 hours and was delivered to Pozzi new.

This particular car ran in the 1979 Daytona 24 hours, the 1979 (#63) and the 1980 (#75 European University colours) Le Mans 24 hours. In 1979 the car was driven by the experienced team of drivers Ballot-Lena, Leclere and Gregg. In practice for both races in 1979 the car qualified as the fastest Ferrari, achieving a time at Daytona of 1m 57.32 secs giving it 13th place on the grid. At Le Mans it was the fastest Ferrari achieving a speed in excess of 204 mph on the Mulsanne Straight where it was placed 14th overall at the start. It was holding 10th place after 14 hours of racing when it was eliminated in a collision with a Chevron at the Hunaudieres.

Following its last event the car was returned to the factory and totally rebuilt. At this time the car was used in the then new wind tunnel to improve aerodynamics – as a result significant improvements were made to the body to make it more effective and these items are still present on the car to this day. When purchased by the current owner in 1996 a faithful and total restoration was carried out right down to the smallest detail as it appeared at the start of the 1979 Le Mans 24 Hours race including a large of amount of hand painting which has been reproduced in much the same way as it was when prepared by the Charles Pozzi team in June 1979. This BBLM must be the finest condition example in the world having won many concours. It is also believed to be the only example in the world with Ferrari classiche certification to date.

Nog steeds één van de meest waanzinnige competitiewagens van Ferrari, naar mijn zin.

Blijft een van mijn favoriete Ferrari's zo een Lusso, alleen spijtig van de kleinere koplampjes vooraan, die geven hem een wat vreemd vooraanzicht.

Aan zo'n 355 betaal je je blauw volgens wat ik gehoord heb. Stond eens eentje opt het werk bij ons. Die was redelijk ok, maar wat daar nog allemaal bijkwam de komende maanden van onderhoud, grote wtf. En zou zouden ze allemaal zijn. Klinkt wel vet
