Pagani has announced that a new dynamic pack for its Huayra Coupe is now available to order. It’s called the ‘Pacchetto Tempesta’, and will set you back €160,000 - or just over £126k.

It’s a lot of money, true, but there’s some cool kit on offer. The new Tempesta pack - named because the Huayra derives its name from ‘God of the winds’ - was developed in collaboration with Dallara. They know a thing or two about handling, and so this pack offers up superior airflow under the chassis and more downforce.

So, you get new lightweight composite components developed in line with those built for the hardcore Huayra ‘BC’. Things like the, um, entire underbody, as well as a new front splitter and rear diffuser. You’ll spot it’s got a new set of wheels, too; at 20in up front and 21in at the back, they’re bigger yet lighter than the standard Huayra Coupe’s rims, each forged and machined from aeronautic grade aluminium. Also, they sport a fancy new design.

The suspension has also been modified. The aero changes and increase in downforce as a result meant new four-way adjustable Ohlins shocks were required (developed specifically for the Huayra).

Finally, we get to perhaps quite literally the best note: a new exhaust system. The hand-welded, titanium system weighs in at just 7kg - 3kg less than standard - and gives off “an exclusive sound that can be enjoyed by the occupants as well as by those who hear the sound of the twin-turbo V12 AMG from outside”. Yep, you’re welcome, world.

There’s no power increase mentioned, but with a 6.0-litre V12, 730bhp and a 0-62mph time of 3.2secs, it’s not exactly wanting for power. The harder cored BC, remember, pumps that up to a whopping 789bhp, if you’re wondering.

No, the aim of all this is superior handling. “This translates to an even more responsive behavior compared to the Huayra Coupè, further reducing the roll and pitch for a sporty yet comfortable driving experience,” explains Pagani.

All in, this pack - available as an option or retrofit to your existing Huayra Coupe - will cost as much as a McLaren 540C or a Porsche 911 Turbo. So here’s the choice: upgrade your Huayra, or add another supercar to your fleet? It’s a difficult one, granted…

Motor was altijd een pareltje.

De looks daarentegen...

Kijk hoeveel strakker bv de Murcielago is vormgegeven.

Vind vooral het zijaanzicht van een Zonda nog altijd niet optimaal. 

Precies een uitvergroting van de reden waarom ik front-engined cars altijd mooier heb gevonden, ziet er nl imo niet gebalanceerd uit. 

Maar heb het design ondertussen wel leren appreciëren. Zou em alleen niet plaatsen in de hall of fame van mooiste auto's ooit ofzo. Gewoon een hele dikke bak.
