Button was stopped by a turbo problem, while Alonso was called into the pits after the team discovered an ERS cooling issue. Despite not making the chequered flag, both drivers said they were hugely encouraged by their pace in the race and how close they had been to the midfield. "We are actually racing people and closing on the pack in front," said Button. "In the last stint it was quite a lot of fun. "You can see where the strengths and weaknesses are, and it is quite apparent compared to the Force India. "But then you also compare us to the Sauber and even some of the quicker cars." "Fighting with the pack is the important thing. It is what I enjoy and hopefully race by race we will start to pick them off. "Finishing 13th or 14th is not important to me, it is more information collecting ." Alonso said McLaren's race pace was "better than expected" for him as well. "To be able to run with the pack, even catching Red Bull at the end before the stops, was a nice surprise," he said. "Maybe one point today was possible. The real positive thing is that we were able to run with everybody else, and were not just the last two cars fighting each other - this was the first step we had to do." Hij moest ook wel om uit de schaduw van Sainz te treden, want die kan precies ook serieus rijden... wordt een interessant jaar om te volgen bij STR! Hamilton was apparently angry over the decision to use the hard compound tyre over the quicker medium tyre during the final stages of the Malaysian Grand Prix. Sources said he was accused of hitting the engineer after the race in the team’s motorhome. Fans are unsurprisingly fuming about the news. @TeamLH4ever on Twitter said “This is an absolute joke. No Lewis. No Formula One. I won’t be watching again, Bernie,” while @H4M_Til_I_DiE said “Bye bye Mercedees, ur nufink wiv out Louis.” The shocking news means the reigning World Champion could miss the Chinese Grand Prix next weekend, just as he was set to sign a £30 million-a-year contract with his team. :lolz: Hamilton zou wel een contract tekenen of getekend hebben met een waarde vaan 27 miljoen/jaar.
