A routine oil change service costs about $8,000, and annual running costs are estimated by McLaren to be about $30,000 per year

Bryan Murphy, a technician who cared for three customer F1s, reports that a nail in one tire cost $6,000 to repair because the McLaren factory insisted on replacing both tires on the same axle. The McLaren factory scrubs every F1 replacement tire that it supplies to owners on a test track.

Enkele posts hoger had ik 18k £ gezegd voor 'high mirrors'. Flemke heeft nu de echter prijs genoemd voor een de spiegels achteraf te verplaatsen:

At the time I did not know whether to take that number at face value, but in about '04 I asked the factory how much it would cost to have it done retroactively and they told me, probably not coincidentally, that it would cost "about £60k."

En als dat al redelijk absurd is:

Although McLaren offer a wide range of solid and metallic paints for the exterior, if an owner wants the car painted, for example, in a solid (non-metallic and therefore easier to spray than metallic) colour of his own choosing, the charge for that is £20k.
Please recall that these guys do not have a giant production line that has to be halted in order to accommodate a custom paint colour. They just have to remember, that morning, to mix a darker blue instead of a lighter one. As I say, a metallic paint requires more labour to spray than a solid.

These is an "informal" option of having the heat shield that sits horizontally under the exhaust pipes, and is visible only by peering through the mesh at the lower rear, gilded in a similar fashion to the gilded film that lines sections of the F1's engine bay. That option will set you back £15k.
